THE QUEENS COURSE,
GLENEAGLES, PERTHSHIRE
Although the King’s Course will always stand as one of the finest examples of heathland golf in Scotland many find its sister course, the Queen’s perhaps in a gentler, more feminine way, as delightful. Local golfers will go as far as to say they prefer it.
The Queens is significantly shorter than the other two Gleneagles courses but it makes up for this in its tactical craftiness. With many risk-reward scenarios ahead, it is a shot-maker’s course that proves most exciting.
The axiom is if you can hold your score together on the front on the Queen’s you should score well for the round. Unusual for a James Braid design, the Queens tests from the outset.
