They call it ‘Old’ but in Belek nothing is that
antiquated. Gloria’s Old Course was one of the
first built in 1997 by French designer Michael
Gayan, a tree-lined hugger with tall umbrella pines
eating up valuable air space.
Length might an issue for more seasoned players who
can play the ball as they wish and clear awkward
woodwork guarding the greens. For the rest of us,
this remains a testing, strategic challenge that
will make you think.
The 1st and 2nd holes are a stiff start for your
average player. You stay wood-bound for a few tight
holes then at the 7th it all opens out again. There
are seven lakes on the course that come into play
so don't think Old means feeble.
